turning in tourist
« on: November 06, 2006, 19:30:15 PM »
Hello to all,

Meanwhile I am seated working and waiting

for the arrival of the restored ones, i have  planned some things to give a

more "touring look" to my bike, for example high windscreen, side

bags and topcase, etc

has any of you already proved anything?

I did approx 600-700 miles in 2004 with a top box and two hard

panniers, fully loaded, with no problems

As long as you're

aware there is more weight on the bike and ride accordingly, there's no

limit to how many miles you can do

Of course Iain, also I have travelled 1500 km in in a pair of of

days in more than one occasion, the problem is, that I would be less tired, if

the wind was not hitting me so directly

I had a high screen on a cbr some 10 years ago, but wasn't

very happy with the wind protection it gave.
It really started to work

properly above 180 km per hour below that I could not keep my head still!

That looks like the type of screen on my old Hurricane..

/>didn't do much for me -> wind blows directly in your vizer...

that's why I'm riding with it almost closed.
When I was taking

lessons I always rode with the vizer fully open.

That will give you more protection all right, but the fairing on a

CBR is a lot narrower, you'll have to make something fit that is made for

another bike!
But hey, my motto is: everything can be fixed.
