A stainless pipe certainly is worth its weight in gold, I had one made for my 1000 well before the millennium changed, at first I thought it was quite expensive, but it turned out to be about the same price as the original Honda header system made of just mild steel! I gave the guy a rotten ori one to copy and still am using the result! Nowadays there are plenty stainless pipes to be found for the cbr1000f, maybe a firm like Delkevic, in the UK, have something for the 750 too, they are quite famous here in Holland....
As for the synchronising, there are only three crossheaded screws, situated between head and carbs, and the hoses connect on top of the carbs, also near the head. If you weren't so far away you could borrow my gauges, but alas....
You balance the carbs in pairs, the left two and the right two, and then sync the pairs, it's really not that hard
