Hi everybody just wanted to introduce myself as the proud new owner of Davids bike.
I have a bit of a collection going on at the moment and the CBR is a great addition, David has looked after it really well and i have benefitted from his care and if needed i could ride anywhere with nothing to spend.
However being me and a bit of a purist i will be making some small changes ie infill panels back on and correct rear mudguard also a battery/toolbox cover that was missing. When the weather warms up in a few months the belly pan will be having a respray as it peeling paint behind the front wheel.
It does seem that it is an unusual colour scheme for a cbr750 (see Daves pics) and i have been trawling the net to find more info, it appears it could possibly have been exported from Japan to America and then to here in England as it has American spec dials ie the speedo is mph but in reads in increments of  15 25 35 45 etc. I have seen pics of these dials on American CBR1000f s.  Its first Mot here when registered showed the mileage in MPH therefore i assume it had these dials on when imported. The shiney silencers are correct but have alloy shrouds that look to have been added but very professionally with lovely seam welds down the inside length. I spotted a cbr750 advert from last march on ebay uk and that bike had the same silencers, perhaps they were put on to meet an American spec.
I like the idea that its a bit of a mystery.

Welcome to the forum Kevin it will be interesting to keep an eye on my old bike!
The membership is global and there is a lot of expertise, the forum also has a Japanese member, xpd153, who is very useful in terms of translation of manual and being in the Honda homeland.

Thanks David, it looks like a great site with a lot of knowledge among its members. When telling friends ive now got a cbr750 the reply is always "whats one of them"  . Hope your enjoying the VFR, great bike but i bet a bit of you will miss being on the cbr.

US regulation for vehicle import is relatively tight. However we can see GT-R or Cosmo(20B) on US highway. Because there are some methods, but most of such method is gray, like diplomat or UN official privilege.

 Your CBR seems like Honda's pilot export model to some country, but unlikely US.  Because Honda didn't want any trouble with DOT or NHTSA.
 Or someone made quite high quality plastic and painting.

 Swapping CBR1000F gauge is piece of cake with basic skill. CBR1000F(SC21,SC24) were well sold in US.

 Anyway, if you want some RC27 parts, maybe I can help you. But usually shipping cost from Japan to UK is not so cheap.

Thanks xpd153, i guess i will never know its history but will enjoy it for what it is. There seems to be quite a few parts on ebay uk at the moment so maybe there has been one or two broken over here. Its nice to know there is a forum member in Japan.
