I guess you could say its semi tidy for age but has had a hard life, looks to have been dropped more then once lol and is missing the seat bracket...ect and i assume its going to be hard to locate one??.

With seat bracket do you mean the passenger grabhandle?
That is one of the parts you could use from the 1000....

Rob yes thats the one, i also need the clip part to hold the seat in place. I'll ring around a few more motorcycle wreckers tomorrow but so far no such luck with anyone having anything, most of them say " are you sure you don't mean a CB750" lol makes me wonder...

Don't despair, just ask for the CBR1000F stuff, and try it on the bike before buying. Or at least make an agreement you can return it if it doesn't fit!

Hey Crusher you're correct, the bike has a tick up top but thats about it runs like a dream. I couldn't care less about appearance in all honesty i just want to seat to sit flush so if im getting followed by one of these guys ---> he doesn't pull me over and say hahaha

Re parts, I have a lead on a dead CBR 750 up here, straight bike but had a buggered crank. Been trying for a few weeks to locate a number, address of the guy. Currently sitting in a farm shed under a blue cover from what I'm told. Apparently he tried to sell it locally but i must have missed this some how. Waiting on info from a mate who is currently in England. I was keen to get my hands on it as a project at the time.

Sounds like it could be a good score, is it true that the CBR900 was just a stroked version of the 750? cause if so maybe a 900 crank and rods would be just what that bike needs to rev back into life. If you do locate that bike and you've lost interest or it isn't what you would wish to restore i could well be keen on it. Can never have to many bikes, right? hahaha

As a kid my dad had two sheds full of motorbikes, I think about 10 in each.  Only 2 ever went, the others just collected dust.

After many years of having no space (and no bikes) he now has three.  2 don't run and need serious work (and $) to get them back into shape, the other one sits unregistered 9 months of the year as he can't ride it due to a shoulder injury.  Yet he still feels the need to keep all three even though he's in an apartment and also owns 3 cars!

I've got 4, and got my hands full keeping them all on the road (also due to the average age of course )
And sorry Richard, I've read that too, about the CBR750 being the run up to the 900, but they never went along with that. The blade guys would have loved that, they had to make do with a camchain configuration. And to be honest, I never understood why the 750 has gears driving the cams, and the 1000's had a chain again....

Your dad sounds like a great guy you're lucky he's how i wish to be to when i get older!! (just minus the shoulder injury) I bet he would've had some cool things in those two sheds over the years.
Growing up my father was only into farming, fishing and moaning about things i had broken 
I think it's best to grow old with something then to grow old without lol i bet he treasures what he has left!

Rob 4 is a good number, sadly for me i just have the one but did used to have a few dirt bikes. Well there goes that plan of stroking a 750 to a 900, putting a small turbo on it and surprising some 1000's
