[Bungle]

A big hello to everyone and what a saviour this site is. My name is

Charlie I live in a small village in Essex I have just returned to bikes after

25 years, only because someone said "I've got a bike in my garden do

you want it " so I am now the proud owner of.......a load of bits !!!

/>Was not sure what it was apart from a Honda 750, when I found this site I

now know what I have. I intend to restore it back to a reasonable condition as

the clocks only say 21,000Klms.
My last Honda was a 1979 CBX1000 and the

last bike I had on the road.
From what i have read on the forum and the

passion other memebers have for their bikes I think I'm going to enjoy

the journey of discovery!

I dont live too far

away only in Rayne near Braintree! I'm currently in the middle of sorting

out the bits as the bike is not too pretty at the moment, lets call it a

"rescue bike" needs lots of TLC.
Once I have it stripped down

and start to get replacement parts I will need some help on what will and will

not fit.

The

rust on the bike is not too bad only some surface rust, the exhaust is in good

condition aswell !
 :(The forks have some pitting on them so they are

off to www.pittedforks.co.uk on tuesday for repair!
I took 6 litres of

Oil/Petrol mix out of the engine yesterday so not sure off condition of

rings.
But filled the cylinders with WD40 for 24 hours, new filter and

oil, spun the engine to get oil pressure and WD40 out, a quick squirt of

petrol inton the carbs and she started....

since '95 and that's a few years before I discovered the Discworld


It was a typo anyway because I did not remember how Gollum was written

and anyway I was reading Azure Bonds (Forgotten Realms novel) at that time

and there is a Golem reference in that as well (It is not a Pratchett

invention)

Jo and I took a run to see Bungle yesterday, and he has a lot of work to do.

It was barely recogniseable as a Hurricane, but we had a cup of tea and a

chat, and then Jo and I went for a ride as it was such a nice day.

Emailed me today asking if I knew where a couple of pipes went to but mine

hasn't got them.
On his, there is a pipe that connects to the carbs

on the airbox side in between each pair of carbs at the top. It looks like it

may be a vacuum pipe - can anyone help? It's a D reg ('87)

I got all the pipes in the right place now ! And she runs, just a

little ride along the close did not hurt anyone, just got some funny looks

from the neighbours at a bare Hurricane going up and down the road. Found some

second-hand spares at DK Motorcycles in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Only problem

their stock price seemed to be £35.00 plus VAT (£41.13) for every item  

They were good though, show them the part or e-mail a picture and they will

match the part and e-mail back with stock availability
