Local bike meet
« on: March 30, 2004, 01:15:00 AM »
I have been told that my local bike meet is starting up again this week, so

will head off on Wednesday to find out.
This is about 6 miles from my

house, in a village with a massive village green, so plenty of room.
In

the middle of summer, there are hundreds of bikers there every week. (For you

guys in the UK, its mentioned in the events section in MCN).

/>Unfortunately, there is usually quite a police presence there, due to the

twats that prat about and kill themselves, but even so it is quite a gathering

and enjoyable.

Well, we went to Bentley on Wednesday, on our way to the bike club; quite a

few bikes there but I think a lot had already gone by the time we got

there.
No police this time but there were some kids on scooters being

stupid.
Guy at the bike club said when he went over there was about 100

bikes there, so should be a good turnout in the summer.

This was a couple of weeks ago now, just been able to load the pic. Pictures

don't really do justice to the 150ish bikes that were there.

Here's me being stupid: What fun is it in meeting other bikers if

y'all don't take a ride together??  ???

That particular week, there was 7 of us in our group, and then there are lots

of groups of two or three, and all the little groups meet up, and you walk

around and look at the other bikes, talk to new people or meet other mates.

/>We normally wander round for half an hour and then go for a ride.

Wacthing other bikes at a meeting is allways cool, and you get excited when

so many people with the same interests (biking) are present in one place, and

at some meets they will pull wheelies, do burnouts etc :)
Meetings are

cool :D

It's because of the wheelies and burnouts that the police are there (see

the first pic with the bright yellow jackets), week before last, a squad car

went after a bike who I think had accidently pulled a wheelie. Don't know

whether he caught the bike or not.

Hmm there would be police present even if all bikers would behave. Massive

events or extraordinary events allways attract police.

Is that why burglars and thieves, go out alone to steal things then? So they

don't attract attention from the police.

If

they went out in groups to steal things the police would catch them easier

Right you are!
Last burglar I spoke to mentioned that apart from getting

caught easier while stealing in groups, they never liked it when he was

whistling on the job  ;D

hmm.. it's not per se easier to get caught though... just make sure

you're the fastest runner of your group  ;)
