Nice bike Kenny. Looks very shiny!
Hopefully mine will look that smart

when the fairings are sorted, but I need to decide on the paint scheme.

/>Fairings will definitely be black, and I'll probably go for the gold

with it. I just can't decide whether to just do the decals in gold ( cbr

750, hurricane etc), or whether to get a set of later cbr stripes made in gold

to fit to the panels.  :-\
Any thoughts guys? And Gals!?   :)

Kenny, the seat looks standard to me  ???

IAN you mean having the

stripes that are black now in gold?

Personally I would have a very

dark blue/black fairing with lightning bolts in silver/blue on them but that

idea is MINE  ;)

G, I was thinking of getting a sticker kit made in the style of the later

CBR600 for example (black bike with yellow stripes), but with the stripes in

gold, on my black bike.
But I do like the idea of lightning bolts! Would

look nice in Gold though! I'll post a pic when I've done it! ;)

THe seat is standard in that photo, it was taken some time ago, the

new seat is black on the sides with a grey marble effect across the top , the

front part of the seat has  less
padding in it and gives it a more secure

feel,  the bike has gold footrest brackets and annodised purple footrests.

Paintwise the belly pan is black, the purple is a custom effect called erie

dess, like a marble effect, the orange is a silver micro glow mettalflake base

with candy orange laquer overlaid, the wheels and pinstripes are racing green,

all the graphics are airbrushed - including the pinstripe.  it has an orange

headlight cover and a purple screen, the bar ends are anodised purple.  the

rear light cluster has been smoothed out to remove the seams, the indicators

were filled  and smoothed out and relocated ,-dark tint ones put lower down

the fairing.  as You can see the brakes have venhill hoses and EBC prolite

discs , with silicone brake fluid and greenstuff pads. the wheels were hand

polished.  The rear cans now have stainless covers over them to hide the prev

owners scrapes.  The bike started out grey and black, with red graphics and a

large dent in the tank. Stainless exhausts may be fitted this year , but that

depends whether I get a new project to play with.  All the paintwork was done

by Myke Taylor, (Taylor's Creative Customising)who if you are readers of

custom bike mags may have heard of. hence
the very shiney bike.
And

yes I still plan to buy his last creation a really wild and low V-max. ;)

Cheers Kenny, but unfortunately I'm gonna put the mongrel down!
The

discs on the front foul the calipers because the offset on the gold centre

isn't deep enough, therefore its resting against the disc and

doesn't turn properly.
So now I've got to send them back, with

my original discs and get them redone.
I won't be going out on my

bike on Bank Holiday Monday.

Cheers C, sent the discs back today, so just waiting now

for them to get back.

It gets worse C :(
Can't even use

Jo's GPZ as I noticed lots of play on the rear sprocket when I was oiling

the chain yesterday, and the rear cush drive rubber( rubber piece within the

rear wheel) has worn, giving the sprocket an abundance of movement. Can't

be good.
No one stocks it, 5-7 days to get in, £27

When I phoned them they said the discs are made to the specification that

they have. So when they receive mine, they will then make them the same and

alter the specifications so it is correct.
The rear wheel and tyre is in

now, just waiting for the discs. :(

Have ordered the part for the

GPZ, should be able to go and get it tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

An update :  the cush drive is in and has transformed the GPZ, like riding a

new bike (but its still not a Gixer). ;D
I received my discs on Tuesday,

decided to try them on the bike before balancing the wheel and guess what?

/>One is fine, the other still isn't f*****g right.
I've only

just calmed down enough to break the news.
Keep ringing them, and they

promise to ring back, get fed up with waiting, ring back to find the guy who

was meant to ring me back has gone home. Ring the next day, another guy

promises to sort it out, so I got fed up waiting and rang him back today,

........... and he's off sick. >:(
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh! >:(

>:( >:( >:(
Now I face the dilemma:- do I accept the offer of my

money back, or do I keep plodding on with them until they get it right?

/>If I start again, am I gonna have similar problems, I've then got to

remove the rear wheel and take the disc off, I'll also probably have to

buy different brake pads, and I'm still gonna be without my bike for a

few more weeks. :( :(
OR,  I get them to try again, they still don't

get it right and THEN i start again, which is an even longer delay.

/>I'm now at the end of my tether, and would appreciate any advice.

/>Help cos I can't take much more of this, I'll buy another bike

:-\

I've just re-read the entire topic from beginning to end.

/>What a soap this has been for you. It's been going on for almost 4

months now >:(

Personally I'd take the money back, calm

down, ride my bike and then decide if I want to retry this with some other

firm or just keep them the way they are..

Obviously you're

pretty pissed right now, don't be to hasty with your decision, whatever

that may be  :-\

Cheers C ;) You're not wrong.
I think I'm gonna have one last

try tomorrow and failing that, ask for my money back.
Trouble is I

didn't want to refit the old discs, with all the work I've done on

the brakes, to get the Mot, and then have to change them again a little while

on, but I'm prob gonna have to rethink soon.
I'll keep you

posted.
