New Brakes
« on: January 29, 2004, 02:21:40 AM »
Hi guys,

just wanted to let you know that my discs turned up today 8) - look better

than I thought they would. I will take some pics when I get my wheels back and

post 'em on the forum before and after fitting.

Hi, just an update.  My mate phoned today to say my wheels look excellent,

just got to be lacquered - clear protective coating used on metallic paint etc

- and I'll get them back. 8)
But I'm not sure when I'll

get them fitted cos I had a car accident last night, and although initially

ok, I'm suffering with my back today so I need to go to the docters

tomorrow. That's if Jo doesn't break my legs for crashing her car

first. :-[
Couldn't do anything to my bike today - it's now

doing my head in! :(

Cheers guys, not too bad, back was worse yesterday, I'm now off work all

week as I'm a delivery driver and warehouseman, which involves lots of

lifting, and I can't drive so Jo has to run me round. The courtesy car is

arriving today.

Jo can't really sit on my Hurricane,

she's too short - shame ;D

Don't worry, still haven't got my wheels back yet, so she's

going nowhere! :(
Been stripping the calipers, but one of the fronts has

seized, so I've had to order replacement caliper carrier sliders - metal

rods that the caliper slides on.
just under £30 for both sides.

Got the sliders today and fitted them so the calipers are

ready, just need my wheels - Spoke to the guy tonite, he's just got to

lacquer them and they're done.

Seen my

wheels - look superb, just waiting on him getting his compressor back and

he'll finish 'em.

Not riding anything at the mo G, cos of

my back, but the fork seal on the GPZ is pissing fork oil everywhere, so its

not rideable.
I've ordered the bits to do it, just waiting on a

mate to come and help me get it done.
 Probably a good thing otherwise

I'd be wanting to ride it.

Leaky fork seals.. I've had that problem... no fun seeing the oil all

over the braking disc!! be carefull!!!

If you REALLY want to ride

it.... lift the plastic cap off the fork, put a ring of cottonwool over the

forkseal and slide the cap down again... it'll help keep the oil in a

bit... not much though
