Speedo noise
« on: March 24, 2015, 20:41:41 PM »
Has anyone else had this issue. Started today and its the same noise as this guy. Sounds like the noise is lower down than the clocks like the cable itself or the wheel mechanism. Not had time to look at it yet.

Yep, that is the cable.
One of my bikes makes the same noise, BUT: only when it is freezing, and only above 80 km/h....
It does it for years already, and in that time it got other wheels, another speedo (because it gave up after 25 years and 250k km), and  I changed the speedo drive from the front wheel to the front sprocket.
When I keep riding, the noise disappears after some 10 km's.
Lubing the cable helps a bit, I think it has to do with water in the cable.
