All Technical Issues / Speedo noise
« on: March 24, 2015, 21:41:41 PM »
Has anyone else had this issue. Started today and its the same noise as this guy. Sounds like the noise is lower down than the clocks like the cable itself or the wheel mechanism. Not had time to look at it yet. https://youtu.be/q1EsUboS36M

Bikers Cafe / Dent pulling day
« on: January 11, 2015, 15:36:53 PM »
Having dropped my bike against the corner of my house ages ago I decided to give the Am-Tech dent pulling system a go.

The glue gun trigger broke on the third pull so I regard the gun as super low quality but you can still use it by pushing the sticks through.

After about an hour the result is quite good and with a bit of a sand and a small amount of filler should look ok again!

Recommend a bostic gun though!

1st pic is before and after, others are after a number of pulls!

Bikers Cafe / New mirrors and clocks screen
« on: November 22, 2014, 14:35:08 PM »
Bye bye cracked screen and mirrors.

Put my speedo in another unit so i hope the rev counter doesn't have the restrictor in. Don't think my old one did as i never saw that speed light on?

Aftermarket mirrors as fed up with looking for used ones!

All Technical Issues / Calipers again
« on: November 02, 2014, 16:00:59 PM »
About the 5th time I've stripped this bitch down because of binding. Went surgical today with the dental scraper. Just been out and i think I've finally nailed it, although every time I say that it binds again! Did a good 40 miles though so I hope thats the end of it. Might have been a slight build up of corrosion behind the seal making the pistons a little tight i reckon. Can't see what else it could have been...

And it does accelerate quicker with the front brake off LOL, could have fried chicken on the O/S caliper when i got home on Friday!

Bikers Cafe / Another years MOT and a sunny day
« on: May 17, 2014, 22:04:27 PM »
MOT Just mentioned the forks as expected, bottoming out a bit but passed no problem. The anti dive valve seems free but maybe I need some oil or air. Do these forks have both air and oil? Need to replace the oil anyway as I've never changed the fork oil. Does anyone have a quick procedure for oil replace and set up of forks? The seals look OK to me.

All Technical Issues / Forks
« on: March 23, 2014, 21:03:51 PM »
Got an mot soon. Have bought a new stainless exhaust sys and had a new back tyre on sat. Had to strip and mess with my front os caliper for the 3rd or 4th time as it keeps sticking even with new seals and super smooth pistons. Think it may have been the pads catching on the pins which are now greased...anyway forks seem to be bottoming out. I've never checked the fluid but they don't appear to leak. What's the best way to check them. I do have a second set of forks and a new set of seals but I think the ones on the bike are ok. If they are able to bottom out does that indicate low fluid?

Oh dear I think we are at the end of the road now! At least a quick google of the Mivv 078/42 tells me that they are off a thousand so I'm going to buy some used ones off a thousand I reckon

All Technical Issues / Speedo glass
« on: February 25, 2014, 08:15:03 AM »
When I dropped my bike against the corner of the house like a tit, the glass in the rev counter cracked. If I buy an eBay speedo does anyone know if you can get the glass out to swap?
